| Why visit the Bunker, well perhaps a background introduction of my involvement may be of help, I've been war gaming man and boy more years than I care to remember, I enjoy the hobby and even run a small part time business that deals in 20mm AFV's and figures primarily aimed at WWII. There aren't many periods or rules I haven't played, but most have the common theme that they are played at a local club over a period of a few hours, on make shift war gaming terrain and usually involve some historical encounter. I've been visiting the Bunker since 1998, I tend to go there at least 2 twice a year which I would say shows that I enjoy going. What is the bunker, well it's a wargaming weekend with a difference and the brain child of Shaun McLaughlin. Have you ever watched epic films such as '633 Squadron' 'The Great Escape' 'Spartacus' and block busters like 'Indiana Jones' or 'The Eagle has landed' and thought now that would make a great game, well Shaun who runs the Bunker has done just that. He brings the particular film to life with purpose built terrain, figures and models, together with easy to follow rules which play well but also give the right feel and most importantly are fun with a capital F. On top of that you are treated to superb meals and good company, which all boil down to a great weekends wargaming. You should go you don't know what you are missing.
